We Look Good on Paper
Haven't posted on this for a while but wanted to put a couple pics from an impromptu show I did along with my brother and lady at the University in the Sheppard Gallery. It opened a few days ago and runs through March 9. So if you are in Reno get up there and check it out. If you did come through for the opening, thank you for making it a night to remember! And if you don't like going to galleries (i'm with you on that) than hopefully you'll spot some of the new work from the gallery show that made its way to the street. Here's a link to more photos.

Take that New York Art Culture
Joe Delappe just forwarded me this article in the NY Times about the Dada Hotel project. It's a dense story with a slideshow to boot. So what are you doing? Check it out!
A bit of background //
The Dada Hotel was the brain child of neon-anarchist Jeff Johnson and artist gone tweety Chad Sorg. Together they've been cultivating Reno's crop through alternative venues such as hotels (read, derelict drug dens).
The El Cortez became the official batcave 3 years ago and they've been having the annual Dada Hotel there ever since. However the list of collaborative artists is growing and the overflow is crossing Arlington to nearby hotels and motels.
So what's next for Johnson and Sorg? At this rate we may see the making of 'Mr. Tumbleweeds Takes Washington'.

Carnel Collab @ The Fort
Worked on a dawn to dusk mural with plastic camera turned iPhone jailbreak bird, Chris Carnel. Had no idea what was going on with this one but like how it turned out. The portraits are of the 3 residents that have work spaces inside. On the left is Deux Gros Nez founder and bike aficianodo, Tim Helion. The center is the sign painter extraordinaire and super rad Renoite, Ron Rash (should've done blonde hair and blue eyes but...). And on the end is Nevada hot spring hunter, cave spelunker, snow and skate photographer, Chris Carnel. The mural is at the Tour de Nez HQ, or better known as The Fort, found out at the end of Dickerson Road.
